SEX FOR GRADES: ATIKU CALLS FOR ACTION

The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the last presidential election, Atiku Abubakar has condemned the harassment of young women in African universities  amidst the  sex for grades scandal.

Atiku in a statement called for strategic measures to put a stop to such  acts.

This was a reaction to a documentary  by BBC , where lecturers were caught on tape seeking for sex in return for favors in the University of Ghana and University of Lagos.

One of the lecturers, Boniface Igbeneghu, from the Department of European Languages, was caught on camera making sexual demands to secure the admission of an undercover supposed 17-year-old.

Igbeneghu is a former sub-dean of Faculty of Arts.
