Former pension boss Maina arrives Court on wheelchair

The Former Chairman of Pension Reform Task Force Team, Abdulrasheed Maina standing trial for an alleged involvement in a N2billion fraud today appeared in Court in a wheelchair.

Maina who was wheeled into the court at about 09:30 am by the Officers of the Kuje Correctional Facility was provided with two first aid boxes in case of any emergency at the court hearing.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, filed a 12-count money laundering against the Defendant, who is awaiting the verdict of the Trial Justice Okon Abang at a court hearing in Abuja on whether to release him on bail amidst his health issues.

Maina, who may likely forfeit his properties if found guilty may go down the line with a reputable firm, Common Input Properties & Investment Limited, for their involvement in the alleged fraud.

The court had earlier directed EFCC to
move its counter-affidavit challenging the defendant’s bail request.
