A total of 47, 804 final year students from all public secondary schools in Lagos State will be sponsored this year by the state government to sit for the forthcoming April\May West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) being conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
The state’s Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, gave this hint ahead of the commencement of the e-registration exercise for beneficiaries of the free examination which is in line with the free education policy of the state government at primary and secondary school levels in the state.
The present figure shows a 3 percent increase in the number of beneficiaries compared to the 44,645 figure of last year.
As a result of this , more students will be encouraged to further in their academic pursuit.
