The National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force, PTF, Dr. Sani Aliyu has announced reduction of the nationwide curfew from 10pm to 4am.
He said this on Monday at the daily briefing of Taskforce.
Aliyu said, from tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2, 2020, reduction of curfew time will be effective, explaining that the purpose of the curfew is to limit social interactions and, therefore, reduce the risk of transmission of the virus,” he added.
Aliyu said that as the nation moves into the second phase of the gradual easing of the Covid 19 lockdown; essential workers will continue with their daily activities as the operational time affects only the non essential workers.
He further revealed that people working as media services providers, health care personnel as well as those in the nation’s critical sectors will continue to work in their respective place of work, adding that there will be a reopening of the nation’s financial sectors, which would be fully operational.
According to him, the mass gathering of 20 people outside of a workplace or places of worship remains prohibited, also there will be controlled access to markets and locations of economic activities, as local authorities continue to provide guidance on opening times.
Meanwhile, The Chairman of PTF and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, also announced the lifting of ban on religious gathering which would be based on guidelines and protocols.
