At least 29 Health Workers have contracted coronavirus in Plateau State. The State commissioner for Health, Plateau State , Dr Nimkong Lar, disclosed during a media briefing.
The commissioner noted that the state has confirmed 198 cases with 114 recoveries and 5 deaths.
Lar further added that a private hospital was shut down for 14 days after exposure to two COVID-19 patients who were treated for other health situations.
He affirmed that 17 workers from the hospital contracted the virus , while all staff have been quarantined.
“We decontaminated the hospital yesterday and have closed it down for public safety.
“We have also taken the 17 staff to the isolation centres for treatment,’’ he said.
The state government also lamented the lack of compliance with health guidelines for COVID-19 by the general populace and certain organizations since the lockdown in the state was put off.
