The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has been suspended from office.
The suspension came about after corruption charges and abuse of office were levied against him by the Office of the Attorney-General.
The 2nd most ranked official in the commission is expected to take charge during the period of the suspension.
Mr Magu who was arrested by the police team on Monday morning in Abuja was brought before an investigative panel to answer the allegations against him.
The acting-chairman has been in charge of the anti-graft agency since 2016, overseeing scores of high-profile corruption cases that have seen many politicians and businessmen convicted and sentenced to prison.
He vehemently denied any misconduct, with his assistants arguing that he has run the office with utmost professionalism and away from shady activities.
