NIGERIA TO RESUME INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS, AUGUST 29


The Federal Government has announced the resumption of international flights in Nigeria from August 29, 2020. Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika made the announcement during the the Presidential Task Force briefing on COVID-19 on Monday. 

He said  Nigeria’s international airports have reached advanced stages of preparedness for the resumption of international flight operations. 


Sirika disclosed that evacuation flights which were introduced in the country as a result of the ban on international flights occasioned by the outbreak of the coronavirus will end on August 25.


According to him, International flights are expected to commence with the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos with emphasis on the observation of all the safety and technical guidelines as prescribed by health authorities.


International flights were suspended in Nigeria as a result of the outbreak of the coronavirus virus pandemic across the world.
