The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced dates of governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun States.
INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, made this known on Wednesday at the meeting of the commission held at its headquarters in Abuja,.
According to him, the Commission has approved that the Ekiti State Governorship election will hold on Saturday, June 18, 2022 while the Osun State Governorship election will hold on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
He said the announcement is to enable early and effective preparations by all concerned.
Yakubu also unveiled a total of 56,872 new polling units, bringing the number of full-fledged polling units in Nigeria to 176,846 .
