The wife of the Yoruba right activist , ‘Sunday Igboho’ Adeyemo along with other members of his household have been kidnapped by gunmen.
The leader of the Ilana Omo Oodua group , a coalition of Yoruba secessionist groups, Banji Akintoye, who made the disclosure said the activist’s house was attacked in the early hours of Thursday.
In a statement released by Akintoye’s Public Relations Officer , Maxwell Adeleye, he said the armed men masquerading in military outfits , killed seven people in the house and whisked away Igboho’s wife and many others .
“The assailants were all dressed in military uniform and spoke French language fluently,” he said.
The invasion on the Yoruba activist’s home comes less than three days to the planned “Yoruba Nation” rally slated for July 3 in Lagos.
