A student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) known as Joshua has drowned in a swimming pool in Benin City, the Edo state capital.
The sad event happened on Thursday at a post-graduation picnic.
TJ as fondly called by his friends reportedly signed out on his last paper few days before the incident.
According to report, TJ had little or no experience in swimming but decided to go to the deepest part of the adult session where he drowned.
Another source claimed that Joshua died from injury after smashing his head on the inner wall of the pool.
Until his death, Joshua was a Microbiology student in the Faculty of Life Sciences.
Paying the last respect, his course mates and close allies poured out their hearts on social media to mourn the fresh graduate.
The people who reported the incident at the police station have been detained for further investigation.
