The nomination of Lauretta Onochie as a National Commissioner of the Independent National Election Commission has been rejected by the Senate at the committee of the whole.
At a sitting on Tuesday, the Chairman of the Committee,Kabiru Gaya, in his report stated that Lauretta Onochie did not meet the requirements of the Federal Character Principles.
The presiding committee thereafter voted against her nomination.
