An appeal court in Benin Republic, Cour De’appal De Cotonou has granted Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho access to medical care.
This came after a court session which lasted for more than eight hours where the solicitor to Igboho tried to seek bail for the activist but the court only granted him access to medical care .
About six lawyers represented the Federal Government of Nigeria in court
Lead counsel to Igboho, Pelumi Olajengbesi, expressed confidence that his client would be released.
One of the charges against Igboho is that his actions are aimed at tearing Nigeria apart .
Igboho and his wife were arrested at the Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou around July 19, 2021, while they tried to catch a flight to Germany.
