The Lagos State House of Assembly has approved the report of its committee on establishment to reduce pension of former governors and deputies in Lagos state by 50 percent.
The committee also recommended the removal of the section of the law that approves the provision of houses for ex-governors in Abuja and Lagos State. Also reduced are the number of vehicles to be made available to the ex-governors and deputies.
The Speaker of the House , Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, suggested two vehicles for them, including a car and a van as against three vehicles recommended by the committee. He stressed the need for the House to meet the yearning of the people, which include cutting down the cost of governance.
