Mrs Nnamdi Nora Chinyere, a Nigerian national has been arrested by the Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), with alleged 100 wraps of heroin in her custody.
She was arrested at the departure hall of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja, Lagos. with 100 wraps of heroin on her way to Florentine, Italy concealing the drugs in a hair relaxer cream.
In another development, operatives of the MMIA Command of the Agency on Thursday, August 12, 2021, intercepted a United Kingdom-bound consignment of illicit drugs at the NAHCO export area of the airport.
Contain in the consignment were 66.600kg of cannabis sativa; 1.600kg heroin and 1.450kg of cocaine with a combined weight of 69.65kilogrammes, all concealed inside cosmetics.
The narcotic operatives also intercepted another consignment of 25.8 kilogrammes of cocaine and cannabis concealed inside foodstuffs going to London, UK at NAHCO export warehouse. at the early hours of Thursday, August 5th. On opening the goods, about 2.3kg of cocaine and 23.5kg of compressed cannabis were found in the consignment.
The interstate command has also beefed up its tactics in arresting criminals who indulge in trafficking illegal drugs at all costs.
At a recent arrest made on August 7, a team of operatives from Owo area Command arrested two suspects and recovered six parcels of skunk weighing 3.6kg; 30 pinches of Crack Cocaine weighing 87 grammes and six sachets of Arizona weighing 265 grammes..
