Brigadier General Adetunji Idowu Olurin (rtd) was today confirmed dead at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital(LUTH) after a brief illness. The former military governor of Oyo State is survived by his wife and children.
He rose to different positions before his death and served as a one-time sole administrator of Ekiti State when Governor Ayodele Fayose and his deputy were impeached in 2006.
The former governor, General Olurin was born in Ilaro, Ogun state, He served as the Field Commander of the ECOMOG Peace Keeping Force in Liberia between 1992 and 1993.
He attended the Nigeria Defence Academy before he resorted to farming, he contested with the former Governor of Ogun state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, although he lost the election.
