Over 60 students, a nursing mother, and her 3 weeks old baby have been evacuated by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu who came to their rescue following the anomalies in Plateau state that has seen over 30 people dead.
One of those evacuated was a 200 Level student named Manya Banfe who also was said to have delivered a baby amidst the recent turbulence, other residents of Lagos currently studying at the University of Jos were also rescued.
Those evacuated were arrived Lagos on Friday after everyone fled for their lives over the recent attacks by irate youths and gunmen which has resulted in the killings of innocent people residing within Jos North Local Government.
The affected people alongside a three-week-old baby were received by state government’s representatives at the Alausa Secretariat led by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tertiary Education, Youth, and Student Relations, Omotayo Sanyaolu, and others.
