IMO POLICE COMMAND DISCOVERS CHURCH USED AS BABY FACTORY

A church at MCC, Uratta in Owerri North Council Area of Imo State has been exposed by the police command for trading new born babies to willing buyers .

Reports have it that young pregnant girls are held in the church till their due time and the babies are sold to buyers.

According to a statement by the State police spokesperson, Michael Abattam, their attention was brought to a missing 18 year old, Amarachi Dioku, who lives at Uba Ifalaka in Mbaitoli area.

Abattam said a tactical team was deployed immediately and investigative reports disclosed that the missing girl was spotted at Jesus Life Assembly Church located also at Uratta.

The statement further disclosed that an Anti kidnapping unit was dispatched by the Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Hussaini, to invade the church .

A resident evangelist of the church, Ugochi Orisakwe ,age 47 was apprehended alongside 4 of his members namely, Chidi Orisakwe , 34 , Pauline Nwagbunwanne , 42 , Elizabeth Uzoma,61 and Chibueze Joy ,31 years.

Amarachi Dioku, who was 5 months pregnant, was saved and taken to a government hospital by the police after which she reunited with her parents.

Evangelist Orisakwe, during interrogation confessed to having been using the church as a place where young girls are kept, impregnated and after delivery, the girls are paid off and their babies sold to rich and childless clients .

According to the state police, further investigations are ongoing and measures are currently in place to apprehend other members involved in the atrocity who are currently at large
