RAIDERS BURN ZAMFARA SPEAKER’S HOME ALONG WITH OTHERS

The home of the Speaker of Zamfara State House of Assembly, Nasiru Muazu Magarya, and other residents in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara have been set on fire by bandits.

The incident was confirmed by the Head of the Committee on Security and Prosecution of Bandits in Zamfara State, Abdullahi Shinkafi , adding that the invasion is retaliation for the ongoing assault by the military on the bandits in Zurmi Local Government Area of the state.

The Chairman of the committee, who visited the affected community to evaluate the situation, said the government is prepared to provide succor for the victims and dispatch more security agents for protection.

Shinkafi disclosed that two of the bandits’ suppliers have been apprehended but he kept mum on whether lives were lost during the attack by the bandits.

He explained that the suspects used boats to transport the products from Sokoto through Issa Local Council to the bandits in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State , adding that the two foodstuffs and petrol suppliers have been handed over to the police for further actions.
