President Muhammadu Buhari has lifted the ban on Twitter in Nigeria.
The ban restricting the operations of the micro blogging site, Twitter, in Nigeria was lifted by President Muhammadu Buhari on October 1st 2021.
Speaking on the new development, the president emphasised the need for the public to use the platform for meaningful engagements instead of using the platform for propagating fake news, and Promoting ethnic and religious sentiments.
In a recent engagement with twitter, The committee along with its technical team raised vital issues on National Security and Cohesion; Registration, Physical presence and Representation; Fair Taxation; Dispute Resolution; and Local Content.
