Suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) took to the streets of Imo Capital, Owerri to enforce a sit-at-home order , forcing traders to close their stores and markets.
Chaos ensued as bullets were shot into the air to disperse pedestrians and motorists.
There were few collisions among vehicles as drivers attempted to manoeuvre themselves away from danger .
Hoodlums exploited the opportunity to loot warehouses whose owners had already run for their lives with goods still displayed while schools were hurriedly shut down as parents and guardians rushed to pick their children.
It is reported that the gunmen arrived from Aba to enforce a sit-at-home order in Imo.
There has been serious unease in the South-East since IPOB announced its weekly sit-at-home order.
