Some areas under Ikeja Electric Plc in Lagos state will experience power outage for a period of 8 weeks .

According to the Chief Technical Officer of Ikeja Electric, Olajide Kumapayi, this is intended to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) re-conduct its 132KV lines.

Kumapayi said the project which would begin on Oct. 11 will increase the capacity of the transmission lines to wheel more power from the generation companies.

He noted that some of 132K lines installed over 50 years ago had become obsolete and degraded due to time and usage.

Areas that will be affected by this stage of the project include Oregun, Police Training College, Oba Akran, Oke Ira, Ogba, Magodo , Anifowoshe and Omole Phase One while Alimosho and Agege axis will be covered during the next stage.
