FG TO MANDATE SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETATION FOR TV STATIONS

The Federal Government is set to direct the Nigeria Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to compel public and private television stations to feature sign language interpreters during their major news bulletins .

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, revealed this on Thursday in Abuja during the 2021 Annual Lecture of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria where the challenges of the disabled in Nigeria in relation to media were discussed.

Lai Mohammad emphasised that both public and private TV stations will be compled to adhere to the use of sign language.
