GUNMEN INVADE UNIABUJA, KIDNAP SIX

Unknown gunmen have abducted six people from the staff quarters of University of Abuja on Tuesday .

The disclosure was made in a statement on the Facebook page of the University.

A worker from the university , Murtala Muhammed , said the attack occurred around midnight.

“They arrived at the quarters and started shooting and shooting,” he said.

A professor of Economics in the University of Abuja, Prof. Joseph Obansa and his two children are among the persons reportedly abducted in the early hours by gunmen.

Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh said security forces have launched a rescue operation.

As at the time of the filing this report, no one has taken responsibility for the kidnappings.
