President Muhammadu Buhari has given a marching order to all heads of security and intelligent agencies to rescue all hostages in the captivity of bandits across the country, particularly victims of the recent train terrorist attack.
This was the major focus of discourse at the national security meeting, the first to be held in 2022.
Briefing state house correspondents after the three and a half hours meeting, the national security adviser, Babagana Monguno said Mr President expressed sadness over the recent security challenges and directed all the intelligence elements to rescue aducted Nigerians from the dens of bandits and kidnappers unhurt.
The other agenda of the strategic security meeting centered on the memo presented by the office of the NSA with focus on the need to increase security operations along the vast national land borders.
The memo suggested the need to figure how the land borders could be safer considering the enormous influx of foreigners who enter the country illegally , even as the security situation in northeast has improved considerably.
