The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has earmarked N239.2 billion for materials and logistics towards the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
According to the commission’s 2023 General election project plan launched in Abuja, the amount constituted 78.44 percent of the commission’s N305bn budget for the election.
Out of the N239.2 billion , N27.1 billion is budgeted for possible run-off elections, N 105. 2 billion for procurement of accreditation devices while N23.7 billion is meant for adhoc staff.
Election logistics is estimated at N23 billion, printing of results sheets estimated at N9 billion, printing of ballot papers would take N20.6 billion and N12.7 billion for non essential materials .
Others include N7.8 billion for the procurement of ballot boxes , N3.9 billion on operational vehicles and and a separate N5.39 billion for procurement of ballot boxes.
