I BEG MY WOMAN WANTS YOUR DOG?

Cases of women sleeping with dogs is something that used to be deemed only possible with people from the western world.

However in recent times, the internet has been awash with cases of females having sex with dogs involving female immigrants who have gone to seek greener pastures abroad.

A common one can be seen with rich Arabs who demand such from some of these female immigrants to their countries, and the claim has been that money is usually at the centre of such acts.

Man-dog sex known as bestiality is an act that is commonly seen as taboo in the African culture.

Many Nigerians have been in shock following a trending video on social media showing a woman purportedly having sex with a dog.

Although a girl who took to her Twitter handle claiming to have been the one having such an affair in the video finally recanted amidst a lot of backlash, reels of controversies have not stopped trailing her and the subject matter she raised.

Moral correctness remains an issue that many a Nigerian would like to hold sacred, yet, modernity, civilization, and social exposure seems to keep on posing serious threats to the supposed sacred issue of morality, at a very alarming pace in the society.

Bestiality from the perspective of the law in Nigeria, is an offence punishable by law, and it attracts a 14-year jail term.

Section 214 of the Criminal Code Act states that “Any person who – (1) has carnal knowledge of any person against the order of nature; or (2) has carnal knowledge of an animal; or (3) permits a male person to have carnal knowledge of him or her against the order of nature; is guilty of a felony, and is liable to imprisonment for fourteen years.”

Section 284 of the Penal Code Act states that “Whoever has carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to fourteen years and shall also be liable to fine.”

Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has said that the Nigerian lady who claimed she was paid N1.7million to sleep with a dog on a popular social media platform will be invited for questioning.

The lady in the centre of the controversy who adopts the name @Veegodess has been trending online claiming there is no big deal about bestiality. In the viral video she boldly claimed she slept with a dog and got N1.7 million as reward for the act.

Not long after, in another tear-filled session now making the rounds , the same user has claimed to just have been “catching cruise” with her earlier claims and that in actual fact, she was not the one.

Generally speaking, regarding bestiality in the first place, one might actually be left wondering wildly, what in actual fact might make a human in the right frame of mind decide to abandon the safe option of heterosexual intercourse with a woman, as is acceptable by law, preferring to seek pleasure in animals instead.

A clinical research done in India holds that bestiality is a type of sexual offence in which animal is used as a medium for satisfying sexual desire without developing any kind of emotional bonding.

It is a punishable offence in many Legal climes. Nigeria inclusive.

Findings from the research establishes that a person who had engaged in childhood bestiality is more likely to commit adult interpersonal crimes and should be taken as a warning signal by the society.

It was established that there is a dearth of possible case studies on this issue, however there was the case of an 18-year old unmarried, non-literate male on which extensive research was done.

The fellow who is of low socioeconomic status was brought to the emergency department for medical examination with an alleged history of bestiality. The patient is the third from a family of seven children.

The family lives in an unhygienic location where dairy farms are being operated. He had committed sexual intercourse with two calves and during the act one calf died. Human DNA was detected from the anal and vaginal swabs of the calves in a forensic science laboratory which confirmed the allegation.

The patient had not shown any feeling of guilt or remorse associated with the death of the calf and admitted to the sexual practice which listed the case in the category of bestiality.

However some background issues could be deduced in the culprit’s history, that could have made him prone to such.

As reported by the patient, the significant life events during his childhood and adolescence contained witnessing domestic violence, involving his father and brother beating their wife, death of mother when he was 13 years old, and his taking to the consumption of alcohol at the age of 16.

Another key life experience warranting a special mention was that he was sexually abused by adult males multiple times at the age of 10-11 years.

Besides being a victim of child sexual abuse at the tender age of 10-11 years,

the patient also reported to have been engaged in forced sexual intercourse within the family, which eventually became consensual.

He also witnessed penile-vaginal penetration in the form of sexual voyeurism, many times within his community. He then started having sexual intercourse with a female in his community from the age of 14.

In addition, he visits Internet café very regularly to watch pornographic movies and pictures, however he preferred to watch sexual activities of animals, precisely of cow, dog, and hen

The childhood sexual abuse, exposure to various internet based pornography sites containing bestiality and voyeurism contents, could have strongly affected his psycho-socio-sexual and personality development.

The researchers concluded that repeated sexual abuse in a pre-pubertal stage could have been the culprit for the patient’s internalized aggressive behaviour , which in turn might have resulted in the adoption of what they referred to as the displacement of anger technique, making him prone to displacing his internal anger towards the animals, to the extent of death to one of the calves.

The researchers jointly affirm that sexual abuse in early relationships could manifest itself as subsequent problems

Societies perceive bestiality in different ways, however in Nigeria, as earlier established, it is strictly an offence, and attracts a 14-year jail term.
