Former governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has declared his intention to contest for president in 2023.
The senator, currently representing Ogun Central Senatorial District in the Senate made his intention known on Thursday at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Center, Abuja.
Dignitaries at the event include his wife, Olufunso Amosun, Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, lawmakers and traditional rulers.
“Today, I am formally announcing my candidacy for the Presidential ticket of our great party, the All Progressives Congress and the Presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“I am so conscious of the immensity of the tasks that lie ahead in our country and the magnitude of the sacrifices that anybody who wishes to lead our country into the next phase must make” he disclosed.
