The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned four staff of Chrisland Schools, Lagos State, for allegedly covering up sexual acts involving some pupils of the school.
The staff who chaperoned some of the pupils to the World School Games in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates were arraigned on Tuesday before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court on two counts of conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and covering up illegal sexual acts.
The four are, Oladotun Sotunde, Elesho Tajudeen, Rhoda Olanipekun and Ajiboye Hammed.
The defence counsel, led by Ademola Animashaun, asked for bail in liberal terms after the defendants pleaded not guilty to two charges brought against them.
The Chief Magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, who ruled on the application , granted the defendants bail in the sum of N300,000 each, with three sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned till June 16, 2022.
The Lagos State government shut down activities of all of the school’s branches after a video that went viral emerged showing some of the pupils having sex in their hotel room in Dubai.
The schools were however instructed to recommence activities following a review of the administrative investigation into the incident.
