TERRORISTS TORCH BENUE VILLAGE, KILL 11
Terrorists have invaded Igama community of Edumoga Ehaje district in Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State in the early hours of Sunday, killing 11 residents.
The gunmen also set almost all buildings in the vicinity on fire.
According to the Chairman of Okpokwu LGA, Amina Audu, they have so far recorded three corpses at Okpoga, the local government headquarters, while six other corpses were being brought from Igama, another affected area.
The chairman further disclosed that the victims were all youths while the elderly and women were allowed to escape.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Benue Command, SP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident.
Audu explained that the invaders burnt all the houses in the community during their operation.
The villagers claimed that at least 11 dead bodies had been recovered while efforts were being made to find missing persons.
