Thirty-five young girls between the ages of 14 and 17 have been rescued from sex Slavery in Anambra
Confirming the incident, the Spokesperson for the Nigerian Police in Anambra State, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP),Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed that four out of the rescued girls were already pregnant, adding that the victims were rescued from a hotel in Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.
He further revealed that the girls were used for illicit work such as sex slaves, prostitutes and baby producers.
The DSP said: “The operatives rescued 35 girls and four of them are pregnant; the victims shall be handed to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons for their welfare and rehabilitation.”
The police stated that there were about three suspects connected to the crime noting that three pump action guns, seven cartridges and cash were recovered.
