The next phase of eased lockdown in Nigeria will come with stringent rules as the Federal Government is considering a lockdown that will affect about 18 Local Government Areas contributing to 60 per cent of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Nigeria.
This indication is coming in after the chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19, Boss Mustapha met with President, Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday.
The PTF Chairman describes the implementation as “precision lockdown” while imploring the affected state governments to comply with the directive.
He appealed to stakeholders to ensure compliance with all non-pharmaceutical interventions as the nation Covid-19 cases is on the rise, adding that about 80% of the infections are within the 31-40 age bracket, a major part of the population.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control revealed that 11 out of the 20 local government areas account for 60% of the cases which are predominant in lagos state.
