The number was confirmed by the Nigeria centre for Disease Control NCDC via its official twitter handle.
New cases were confirmed in 22 states of the federation and the FCT.
Lagos recorded 66 new cases, FCT-50, Delta -32, Oyo- 31 , Borno-26 , Rives -24, Edo-23 , Ebonyi-23, Anambra -17,Gombe-17and Nasarawa-14
Also recorded were Imo, Kano and Sokoto with 12 each, Jigawa-8, Ogun-7, Bauchi – 5, Kebbi , Kaduna and Katsina and Ondo 2 cases each, Abuja and Ogun, one case each.
This update brings the number of covid-19 confirmed cases in Nigeria to 12,233 with 3,826 recoveries and 342 deaths.
